An Ely woman accused of abducting her own child is still in the White Pine County Jail despite have her bail reduced from $25,000 to $7,500.
25 year old Sharina Marie McGarrah returned to Ely and turned herself in to the Sheriff’s office last week after being told a warrant for her arrest.
According to reports McGarrah had taken her two-year-old daughter to Springfield Missouri without telling the child’s father.
“They apparently had joint custody and when the boyfriend showed up to her home to pick up his daughter on February 28th, no one was home,” said White Pine county under Sheriff Scott Henroid. “She returned to Ely after she was notified.”
While the charge against still remains the felony Removal of Child from Lawful Custody, McGarrah’s bail was reduced from $25,000 to $7,500 this week. As of Wednesday however the young mother was still in jail.
