Coming off one of their best season in years the 2014 West Wendover Wolverines began full practices this week training on the grid iron in the gym and in the classroom studying plays. The team’s first game is a home opener against traditional rival White Pine August 29.

  1. One of the best season in years? They won 1 game last season. West Wendover football has really dropped off over the years. I do put some blame on the athletes not being committed but mostly I blame coaching. They had a lot of talent last season and to only win one game was embarrassing. It was embarrassing for the athletes and the school. They were not even competitive most of the time. The play calling was terrible and there is not a word that can describe how bad the defense was. That all boils down to coaching. I hope that the school administrations makes the coach toe the line this season. If not these kids will have a very disappointing season again.
