On October 14 2014 members of the Joint Criminal Apprehension Team (JCAT) which consists of members of the Metro Gang Unit from Salt Lake City Utah and the U.S.Marshall’s office, along with members of the West Wendover Police Department were involved in the investigation and apprehension of three people who were staying at a local hotel. These three people were wanted for felony warrants issued out of the state of Utah.
JCAT was able to track one of the person’s movements to West Wendover and confirmed that they were staying in a hotel. During surveillance of the room other subjects were recognized by investigators, who also had warrants from the state of Utah.
Employees and guests were removed from the immediate hotel area for their safety. Entry was made into two hotel rooms. A total 5 persons were detained, 3 of which had felony warrants. A vehicle that was associated with this group was reported as stolen from Salt Lake City earlier this week. This vehicle was recovered for the owner.
Vu, Thomas Jason $150,000 bail for Aggravated Burglary, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Vu, Tiffany Ann, $10,000 bail for Possession of Forged Writing, or device for writing.
Frehner, Wanda Brianne, no bail warrant for multiple parole violations.
The other two people were released by JCAT after confirming their identity. No warrants were found for the others and no other charges were pursued.
