.The pilot and the only passenger in a small plane were moderately injured as they praciced take offs and landings at the Wendover Airport last week reported Elko County Under sheriff Clair Morris

According to a press release Paul Erich Bowden (pilot) and Marnie Bowden (passenger) were found by air port  personnel Ed Nelson and James Morris standing near the front of the crashed Cessna 182 aircraft.

wrecaquaMorris stated,  Bowden told him that they had been doing touch-n-go’s. Morris added Bowden told him that when he banked the aircraft something happened. One of the wings appeared to have contacted the ground and the aircraft crashed.

It appeared that the aircraft had rolled several times and the left wing was torn off. The engine was laying several feet in front of the aircraft and the torn off wing was several hundred feet in front.

Bowden was flown to the University of Utah medical center and Marnie Bowden was transported by ground ambulance.

centraphoneThe crash scene according to Tooele Airport personnel Ed Nelson and James Morris is located on United States Air Force property. NTSB was contacted and notified of the aircraft crash site and advised that the area is secure.

The aircraft a Cessna 182T is registered to Mountain Air Aviation LLC out of Fruit Heights, Utah.

NTSB ADVISED THEY WILL BE IN WENDOVER AT 11:00 AM MOUNTAIN TIME
