Wendover Casinos roared in May with one of best months since the 2008 crash, according to this weeks report from the state gaming board.

According to the report, Wendover Clubs reported a 10.81 percent increase in total gaming win to $15.81 million for May 2015.

“Win” is a gross figure, with no operating costs or other expenses deducted. And it’s casino revenue only _ separate from hotel, restaurant or bar revenues generated by the resorts.

fishing (1)While win indicates a casino market’s profitability another statistic “play” is an indicator of how casino workers are fairing. With some casino workers dependent on tips for up to half of their total income, play, the amount of money wagered by gamblers is a good indicator of how much casino workers received in tips.

Slot win was up 6.6 percent to $12.3 million. Slot play was up 6.0  percent to $223.2 million. Slot hold increased from 5.50 percent in April 2014 to 5.53 percent this May.

On the tables win was up 28.9 percent to $3.5 million. Play was up 9.8 percent to $16 million while hold was up from 18.52 percent to 21.74 percent.

Total gaming win for the balance of the county increased by 7.79 percent to $8.36 million.

Table win was up 5.3 percent to $1 million. Table play at $4.4 million was up 12.6 percent. Hold dropped from 24.55 percent to 22.9.

For the whole state gaming win in topped the billion dollar mark  for the first time since December 2013.

According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) have showed a total of $1.003 billion, which is a 3% year-on-year increase
