Elko county  court clerk doesn’t have a trial date  yet. It was not set during Eduardo Estrada-Puentes’ appearance Monday before Elko County District Court Judge Al Kacin.

Estrada-Puentes was arrested in October 2014 by local authorities in the State of Jalisco near the city of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

He was held as a fugitive during extradition proceedings in Mexico City, and was returned in October 2015 to Elko. He’s now being held in the local jail.

Authorities say Estrada-Puentes strangled the 29-year-old Stephanie Gonzalez and took her two young children to his parents’ house before disappearing.
