    We did not think we could not get any more appalled but the latest episode of the Jeremiah Wright minstrel show proved us wrong.
    In a long rambling speech this week the good reverend taught us that black brains are different from white brains, but “different is not deficient”.
    Say what?
    If we believe Wright’s premise of an inherent difference in the brains of white and black people then it has to follow that whites think in some ways better than blacks and blacks think in some ways better than whites.
    Different is deficient by definition just as separate is always unequal.
    If black brains are truly different than white brains one could make a very compelling case given the state of black America and indeed black Africa that different is deficient.
    Forget history, geography, and culture black brains are simply different than white brains and since white people rule the world you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out whose brains are better. We are sure glad the reverend cleared that up for us.
    Here we were feeling guilty about slavery and about the tremendous waste of potential in the inner city.
    But now we know the truth.
    Them black folk in Chicago have different brains than white folk and there ain’t nothing we can do to change that.
    Sure they are better at music and sports than white folk thanks to those black brains but what would any white guy rather be an NBA player or an NBA owner?
    We wonder if how Asian brains measure up?
    Certainly a lot can be said how the Chinese and the Japanese are doing but on the other hand international business is conducted in a white language (English) and done in in white dress.
    Besides who bombed whom in Hiroshima?
    T he only thing that bothers us personally bout the superiority of the white brain is that we are not quite sure we have a purely white brain.
    Coming from the Mediterranean region it is a pretty good chance that we have a couple of ancestors who may have been black brained.
    We do like Coltrane much more than Bach.
    On the other hand Jeremiah Wright is obviously not purely black brained himself.
    In fact his complexion is just a little darker than our father’s was after a summer.
    Maybe its because of the white blood that Jeremiah got to be head of his church while the pure pure black brains were busy making music or playing basketball white infected Jeremiah was conniving to take over the pulpit.
    White blood is very sneaky.
    We are sure glad Reverend Wright set us all straight and frankly we are relieved.
    Here we have been teaching our kids that with enough hard work and sacrifice anything and everything is possible.
    Instead we should have told them that everything is preordained in our genes and our skin color.
    As the pagan greeks teach no own can escape destiny, and to try otherwise is to offend the gods.
    Its a good thing our kids are pale because they really aren’t musically inclined and really not that coordinated.
    We do feel sorry for those black kids who aren’t musically inclined and uncoordinated but who are really, really smart.
    Too bad there is no place for them in Wright’s world.
    But what can you do?
     Color is color.
    And different is deficient just as separate is unequal.
