    Every once in a while we are embarrassed about our profession of journalism.
    This week we were embarrassed twice.
    Last month we came under some criticism by Ely media (we won’t use the word reporters, because they don’t deserve it) for not waiting for the sheriff’s press release on the Steve Marich story.
    We will never turn our noses up at a scoop, but seriously folks we beat everyone else by two weeks on a story that happened 120 miles away from our offices.
    This week our lead story is coutesy of the Ely Times no they didn’t do a story on Marich putting his house on the market. They just ran the ad in their real estate section!!!
    Also this week we were contacted by a reporter from the Elko free Press asking us if it was true that the Red Garter was being foreclosed.
    We replied yes it was and that thier newspaper was running the same legal ad to which the EDFP reporter replied ‘Oh.’
    News gathering really isn’t that hard, but one must pay attention.
