    While we can at least partially sympathise with the outrage felt by that group who outed some 1,300 Utah illegals the act itself is a perfect example of the wrong, even evil of Machiavellian precept- the end justifies the means.
    Whether espoused by the right or the left, the motives behind a dastardly act never, ever justify the dastardly act.
    We ask those Concerned Citizens to visit perhaps one of the families they so cavalierly name in their list this week. Take a good long look at the fear in the faces of the parents and the children.
    Was it worth it?
    While illegal, their very presence here is the fault of our federal government first for creating a morass of contradictory rules and regulations, quotas and definitions and then for not enforcing the mess.
    Until the 1920’s this country had an immigration policy that was simple efficient and worked both for the native born and the new comers.
    This country achieved what no other civilization ever even dreamed of. It took in almost the equivalent of the native born population and assimilated them with a minimum of violence or social upheaval.
    In those days entrance into our beloved country was based on two simple criteria, the ability of the hopeful future American to work and his or her readiness to adopt the language and the mores of America.
    They did by the tens of millions and America not only became a better country because of immigrant sweat, our country became a beacon of freedom for the entire world.
    Something so right and so perfect could not remain, for almost 90 years politicians have tinkered and tailored our system to the point where immigrants are still allowed in and can still readily find work but they are now “illegal” and have little if any hope of finding a secure home in their adopted country.
    To make matters worse, they are actively discouraged from assimilating into the American mainstream.
    Compulsory English eduction has fallen to the alter of multi-culturalism.
    90 years of stupid law after stupid law and silly motive after silly motive brought us a permanent alien under class of some 11 million people who live in a legal limbo as they live next door.
    Publishing the names, addresses and phone number of these people achieved nothing apart from frightening those who already live in fear.
    Congratulations Concerned Citizens you frightened the weak and terrified the helpless.
