City — officer reported that James K. Price age 68 of Ely died at his residence of natural causes.

City — officer received a report of a vehicle accident that occurred at the Ely Landfill. During the officers investigation of the accident it was determined that Corrine Marrujo of Ely was operating a vehicle and drove it off a dirt embankment causing the vehicle to roll. Marrujo and a passenger in the vehicle were taken to E.R. by ambulance.

City— reporting party stated that a subject had entered into a home and was removing property. Officer contacted the individual who was removing property he believed belonged to him. Officer reported that during his investigation the property in question needed to be settled in probate.

City — officer contacted the individual who needed medical assistance. He was taken to the hospital by the deputy.

City — officer received a report of an individual putting up private property signs, but the property belonged to the city of Ely. The individual was contacted and advised to remove the signs.

City — officer reported that James Ferris of Bainbridge Island WA. was operating a vehicle and drove under the awning at the Copper Queen Casino. Due to the height of the vehicle it struck the awning. An accident report was completed.

City — Emery Fredenbug of McGill was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a vehicle behind him belonging to Melinda McQueen of Ely. Fredenburg’s vehicle struck McQueens vehicle causing damage. Fredenburg was issued a citation for unsafe backing. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A BATTERY

City — reporting party stated that while she was working at a local bar as the bartender she was punched by one of the customers. The bartender was allowed to sign a citizen’s complaint for battery on the individual she claimed struck her.

City — reporting party stated that the license plate had been stolen off his rental car. Officer reported that the vehicle had a temporary license placed in the front windshield of the vehicle. No theft had occurred.

City — the operator of the vehicle was contacted and the she was not intoxicated.

City — reporting party stated that she had located a disturbing photo on line. Officer reported that the photo originated from Mexico. No action was taken.

City — the owner of the fanny pack was notified to claim it at the Sheriff’s Office

City — the area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT

City — officer reported that Travis Morrison of McGill was operating a vehicle traveling on Great Basin Blvd. Anthony Zamora of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling behind Morrison. Morrison stopped his vehicle due to several individuals crossing the street. Zamora was unable to stop his vehicle and collided into the rear of Morrison’s vehicle. Zamora was issued a citation for following to close. The two individuals who were crossing the street were identified as John and Jo Ann Acres of Las Vegas they were both issued citations for crossing at other than crosswalks.

City — reporting party stated that an individual whom he had problems with in the past made several threats toward him. Officer reported that when the subject making the threats is located he will be issued a citation for harassment.

City — officers received a report of an individual who was threatening to harm herself. The individual was residing in California. Officers contacted the local Sheriff’s Office over that jurisdiction in California and provide them with the information.

City — officer received a report of an individual panhandling at a local business. The manager of the business wanted the individual removed and trespassed from the property. The individual was contacted and advised.

City — reporting party stated that she was chased by a dog running at large. The owner of the dog was contacted and advised of the problem.

City — officer received a report of an individual who had gone to a local store and removed several items without paying for them. During the officers investigation the individual was identified as Michael S. Avery age 48 of Ely. Avery was arrested for burglary and petit larceny.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

City — officer received a report of a subject that was suffering from dementia and had become increasing angry. Officer contacted the individual and was able to calm him down.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT

City — reporting party stated that while she was at a local business an elderly male driving a vehicle drove his vehicle into the back of her car. The elderly male then fled the scene. The reporting party was able to obtain a license plate off the striking vehicle. Officers are attempting to locate the striking vehicle and operator.

City — officer received a report of a juvenile student that had missed numerous days of school. The juvenile will be issued a citation for truancy and a report will be sent to Juvenile Probation.

McElroy’s vehicle rolled out of the parking lot and struck Francone’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

City — reporting party stated that two individuals entered into a local store and stole several items. Officers have identified the individuals and they will be issued citations for petit larceny when located.

Officer located a semi-truck that was parked alongside the roadway. The driver was resting and no violations were reported.
