Esmeralda Arreola of Wendover High School received a $500 scholarship from local cable television, telephone and internet provider, Centracom.

Esmeralda  is a graduating student from Wendover High School with a current GPA of 3.6. She is the member of the National Honor Society and serves as the president of her school’s group. She has received honors in English, biology and math. She currently serves as the President of the School Council.

Additionally, Heather participates in many extracurricular activities, including basketball, volleyball and track. She has also taken many college level concurrent enrollment courses, such as Physics and Sociology.

Besides her scholastic work, she has worked as an intern at NASA AMES Research Center. She studied pictures of Mars looking for evidences of water. She was selected to personally attend the launch of the Space Shuttle STS-133 launch in Florida.

She plans to attend Utah State University and plans to pursue a Science degree in Physics preparatory to working full-time for NASA as a space scientist.

CentraCom Interactive announced the winners of three $1250 scholarships to Snow College and three $500 scholarships to other schools.
