The deputies arrived on scene to find a car had driven through a fence and had stuck a metal pole.  The driver, Jasmine Lopez, suffered a minor injury to her face when her vehicle’s air bag deployed.  Lopez’s infant daughter was in a child seat and was uninjured.

The investigating deputy suspected that Lopez had been drinking.  During the investigation, Lopez admitted to drinking shots before attempting to drive home with her infant daughter.  The deputy also determined Lopez was under the age of twenty-one.   During the investigation, the deputy found drug paraphernalia in Lopez’s vehicle.  Lopez refused medical treatment for her injury.

Lopez was subsequently arrested and transported to the Elko County Jail, where she was booked for DUI, one count of Child Endangerment, Minor in Consumption of Alcohol, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and No Proof of Valid Vehicle Insurance.
