An illegal alien in a jealous rage attacked and strangled his ex-girl friend on the Nugget Casino floor Monday before being subdued by fellow tourists and casino staff.
Carlos Trejo-Cruz, 23, of West Valley City sits in the Elko County Jail on a $15,000 on one count of domestic violence with a strangling enhancement.
According to West Wendover Police Leiutenant Donald Lininger Trejo-Cruz had followed his ex-girlfriend to Wendover where she and a girl friend were perhaps celebrating her recent break up. Once he found her in the early hours of Monday morning, he allegedly attacked her strangling her on the casino floor in full view of other casino patrons and workers.
He was pulled off his intended victim and bound and restrained at the casino’s security office. WWPD offices arrived a short time later and Trejo-Cruz was transported to the Elko County Jail. During the booking process it was discovered that the man was an illegal immigrant and had a INS hold issued against him.
