The tale of the mislaid poodle with an over active bladder had a frantic beginning but a happy ending thanks to an emergency ad on the High Desert Advocate’s website.

Early last Friday morning the offices of the High Desert Advocate were contacted by a frantic trucker whose mid-sized poodle Gigi had wandered away from his rig at the Trucker’s Lounge.

“I have a delivery to make in Wyoming is there anything you can do to help?” He ask.

The Advocate staffer told the trucker that while he missed that week’s print edition the newspaper could put an ad on the newspaper’s website www.coyote-tv.com. The website averages 7,000 unique vista a month and between 300 to 800 unique visits a day. Friday is one of the most heavily trafficked days.

The trucker had his girlfriend in Florida send a photo of the missing poodle and within 30 minutes of the initial call the ad was up and eight hours later the dog was found about 2 miles from where it scampered off in a local apartment complex.

Four years ago a similar emergency ad on www.coyote-tv.com helped re-unite an Elko woman with her pooch Boo Boo also found within hours of the ad’s placement.
