A daring armed robbery/attempted murder of a Wendover taco truck operator was foiled last week when witnesses to crime chased down the robbers on I-80 shortly after midnight July 2.

Alfredo Antonio Morales-Morena and Manual Ramblano Sanchez Jr. are in the Tooele County Jail charged with attempted murder and armed robbery of Cecilio Santiago.

According to Tooele Sheriff’s reports the two approached the mobile taco stand shortly after midnight July 2 with one brandished a pistol and the other a taser demanding money from the truck’s attendant Cecilio Santiago. A struggle ended and a shot was fired at the victim’s head but did not hit Santigo. He was

however tased in the leg and the two stole his wallet as well as his cash box.

One of the victims at the Taco stand chased the suspect vehicle on the frontage road where he stated he was shot at. He rammed the vehicle twice, once on the drivers side and once on the passenger side causing damage to it.
The suspect vehicle was then followed by another witness on I80 until it was stopped by State Troopers.

The occupants of the vehicle were detained until police arrived on the scene arrived on scene.

urveillance of the vehicle was viewed by Montego Bay security and 2 male subjects were seen leaving the casino and getting into a white Dodge Charger then driving out of the Casino parking lot toward the housing area north of the
stand.
Approximately five hundred dollars in cash and 1 check was taken in the robbery along with the victims wallet.
The suspects car was searched with a warrant and produced 578 dollars in cash along with foreign money that was described exactly by the victim of the robbery as being taken from his wallet.

Clothing matching the description that the suspects wore was also found.
A black backpack with a small fabric gun case was also located in the backseat area of the vehicle.
A stun gun was also found in the drivers side door and identified as belonging to the driver Alfredo Moreno.
The victim of the robbery stated that a stun gun was used on his leg to keep him down while the cash box was taken from the stand.
The passenger of the vehicle, Manuel Sanchez was identified by the victim as the one that held the gun to his head and fired it. One 45 caliber federal bullet was found in this subjects front left pocket while being searched by a State Trooper.
A empty shell casing matching the type of bullet that was found on Manuel was found on the Wendover frontage road where the victim stated he was fired upon by the suspects. 

The cash box to the taco stand was then found several miles east of this location.
The tire tracks leading to both the shell casing and cash box appeared to of match those of the suspects car.
