Wendover residents turned out by the hundreds on Oct. 2 to make Wells Rural Electric Company’s Second Annual West Wendover Junior/Senior High Homecoming BBQ a great success.
WREC’s sponsors events at all four high schools in its service territory to support their local students and enjoy a night of fun. West Wendover’s BBQ broke the record for attendance.
With the smell of delicious food wafting through the air, sounds of children screaming in delight while rattling around in an inflatable bounce houses, and performances from WWHS programs, 1,250 people showed up to enjoy the food and fun. As its owners Energy Experts, WREC employees staffed a booth at the rally to meet with owners in person and promote WREC community programs like the Next Dollar Foundation, share the benefits of the cooperative’s energy efficiency rebate program and discuss any potential service requests or other energy-related questions.
