WWHS student, Meagan Leggett, stands in front of a portion of the 30 ft. mural that she painted at the “Kids Are People Too” day care center.
As part of her vocational training, Meagan goes to the center every school day, where Ana Aboit, owner, helps her to learn child care skills. While helping with the children, she noticed an empty wall and volunteered her artistic abilities to add some color to the room for the children.
Meagan designed the mural and with the help of Cheryl Bishop, WWHS art teacher, and Steffanie Douglas, an instruction aide Meagan painted the mural. She worked on the project after school for several weeks and it was completed in late March.
