Wendover will be sending about half a squad to the Marines this year plus one soldier to the National Guard.

Like most land locked communities in the United States, Wendover has always sent the bulk of its military recruits to either the Navy or the Marines with the Marines far and away the most popular branch of the military.

Wendover military men and woman have seen action in every major recent conflict fought by the United States including Iraq and Afghanistan.

There is also a large contingent of veterans of previous conflicts who did not live in Wendover at the time but later moved to town after they left their various services.
