In a little more than a week Wendover Cinema will celebrate its 30th anniversary and with the same owner Jim Trammel.
“We have really seen a lot of changes in the industry,” Trammel said in an interview Tuesday. ‘Remeber we started out in 1985 and film was the standard and VHS was king. Now all that has changed but I am proud to say that we have kept up to provide Wendover with the best entertainment Hollywood has to offer.”
Trammel opened his theatre the same year the now defunct Silver Smith Casno opened its doors. One probably would be hard pressed to bet that the Wendover Cinema would outlets a multi-million casino but it did.
“We haven’t become millionaires,” Trammel said. “But heck the cinema has provided a good life for three generations of my family. I am also proud that over 30 years the cinema has been the first job for hundreds of Wendover kids. It is a real treat to see them so eager to work and so happy to get there first paycheck.”
