2018 Legacy Fund sets unbelievable records

Newmont Nevada employees recently celebrated the conclusion of their 2018 Legacy Fund campaign resulting in a record-breaking total of $2.9 million in pledged donations! The funds will be distributed throughout 2018 to local nonprofit organizations that provide essential services and help to build healthy, sustainable communities across northern Nevada. The charitable workplace giving campaign concluded its eighth annual run with an unprecedented 75 percent of employees participating and pledging a record $1.45 million, which will be matched by Newmont dollar for dollar.Newmont thanks  their Newmont Nevada employees for their continued support of the Newmont Legacy Fund and unrelenting generosity.

Holiday Drive for the Troops

Another successful Newmont Holiday Drive for the Troops is in the books. Newmont employees from across the state donated a total of 3,929 pounds of items to be sent in care packages for U.S. Military men and women this Holiday season.

Long Canyon Employees get in the Holiday Spirit

Employees from Newmont’s Long Canyon site volunteered their time decorating a “Grinch” themed Christmas tree to be donated to the Wells Festival of Trees event.

With the excitement of the holidays in the air, it is easy to forget about safety precautions. Follow these safety tips to ensure you are safe this holiday season:

  •   Before stringing lights on houses or trees, inspect the strands, to make sure there aren’t any frayed cords or cracked bulbs
  •   Always have someone with you when hanging Christmas lights or decorations from a ladder
  •   Make sure your ladder is on a secure and level footing before climbing
  •   Make sure your tree has a stable platform and is well watered at all times
  •   Keep trees away from heat sources such as fireplaces
  •   Turn off all lights and decorations when not in use
  •   Keep your vehicle prepared for winter weather; snow tires,emergency kits, shovel, etc.
  •   Use a designated driver to ensure guests make it home safely from holiday parties
