We do not understand when people could even think of saying yes to the Ballot Question 3. It should be a very assertive No to anybody leaving here.
Wells Rural Electric Company in Elko County serves Wells, West Wendover, Carlin and Wendover, Utah.
Mt Wheeler in White Pine County serves Ely, McGill, Lund, Eureka, Ibapah, Baker, Duck Water, Cherry Creek area.
These are two Electric companies owned by who they serve. Who conduct elections among us, to elect their board members.
They really care who they serve, and have been serving us at a great low price for decades.
These two utility companies have some of the lowest rates in the country, not just Nevada. And they also provide excellent service to their customers “owners”. They are the ones who in the dead of winter storms go and fix those poles and connections when accidents happen, and give us back a such needed electricity to warm our houses and power our devices. For example when a semi truck took one pole down a few winters ago, their linemen were out there in the freezing cold fixing the problem, and fix it they did. They are here for us in the hot summer days, and we can liberally use our air conditioner without being afraid of an exorbitant bill. Their bill stay pretty low, and it is nice to be able to count on that.
Who knows what will happen if other companies come in, promise us a cheap price, but only for few months. Then they could jack up the prices and it would be to late to say anything or do anything about it. Just like many years ago the cell phone companies used to do. They would promise us $50. /a month bill, but when the bill arrived it would be more in the hundreds and thousand ($700., $800. etc…). We know, we remember, it happened to us.
So please think twice before you vote yes, and open a can of worms and bring in scammers. Anybody can promise the moon, not everybody delivers. But those two companies, Wrec and Mt. Wheeler, did deliver and will continue to deliver low prizes, and great service and we all know about it already.
Because as the saying goes “Only the Greedy gets Scammed”. May be in the future the legilators will produce a more reliable law who will check every step of the way and stop possible scams, but for now this law is notdoing anygood to anybody yet.
