At last Thursday Wendover City Council meeting of December 5th, 2019, Firefighter Uriah Trammell was awarded a Citation of Merit for his actions on November 16th, 2019, when the Wendover Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on I-80. The vehicle was completely burned and all the family’s possessions were burned in the fire. A child that was a passenger in the vehicle was left barefoot in freezing temperatures. Firefighter Trammell provided the family a ride back to Wendover wherein Uriah took it upon himself to buy shoes for the five-year-old boy and deliver the shoes to the family. Uriah’s actions went far and above his duties to which the Wendover Fire Department acknowledges his community efforts with a Citation of Merit.
