The Nevada Highway Patrol reports that on Sunday April 19, 2020 at approximately 6:15 am Pacific Time/7:15 am Mountain Time, Troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash involving a single vehicle rollover on Interstate 80 near mile marker 354 in Elko County, approximately 2 miles east of Wells, NV.
Preliminary investigation shows that an orange Toyota pickup was traveling eastbound on I-80 when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway. The driver over-corrected causing the vehicle to roll. There were two occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash, neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt and both were ejected from the vehicle. The occupants, identified as Joshua L. Cook (32) and Christopher J. Marriott (34) both from West Wendover, NV. They were declared deceased on scene.
The Investigation is being handled by the Multi-Disciplinary Investigation & Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.)
