Thursday, September 10, 2020, at around 8:00 am, Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a car accident involving a single vehicle on SR278 near mile marker 55 in Eureka County.

Preliminary investigation shows that a white Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north on SR278 when the vehicle crossed over the centerline and entered the southbound travel lane. The driver overcorrected, causing his car to rotate clockwise across to the other side of the road and overturn onto the dirt shoulder.

The driver, 28-year-old Christopher Mach, from Las Vegas, didn’t wear his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Mach was declared deceased at the scene

This crash is being investigated by the Northern Command East Multi-disciplinary Investigation & Reconstruction Team.
