Support and words of encouragement continue to come in for Abraham “Trucker” Gonzales now almost a month on the run.
Abraham “Trucker” Morales has become something of a outlaw hero as he evades capture by local police.
Morales was arrested around 4:30 am Monday June 4, when they arrived to break up a fight at a local bar that he was not involved in and that was no longer going on. According to the police department press release Morales only obvious infraction was yelling them.

Morales was handcuffed and placed in a patrol car for transport. Officers were then alerted to another fight at the same bar. As police investigated the second fight, Morales freed himself from the police vehicle and fled the scene while still handcuffed.
Morales’ escape and the police so far failure to recapture him has turned him to something of a hero especially in Wendover’s large Latino community.
“The most those cops have done is bring ICE into this town and take patents away from poor innocent children who’m they should be ptotecting, this is a small community in the first place shouldn’t they be a little more associated with the people living here?” Wrote one blogger on the Advocate’s webpage. “Instead they have been harassing this man and his poor mother and have threatend Abraham and his younger sister with a child whom is only 4 years old and is Abraham’s son telling them that if Abraham and his younger sister would not answer questions that had nothing to do with themselves that they were going to deport their mother who is a citizen of the United States. We need to do something as a community about these police officers. We have woman abusers, pedafiles, and unworthy crooked cops! How are we supposed to feel safe?”
But as Trucker grows in esteem, the failure of police to catch him is breeding ridicule on the department.

The fact that Morales has remained free for now almost four weeks may indicate that he is receiving help in the community despite a public plea from police for assistance from the public.
Good thing there’s support for a known gang member. I’ve watched Abraham on two occasions chase people down and beat them.
to “Dover alum”, i dont recall truker ever being arrested for assult, if you did see him chase down 2 people and beat them why didnt you call our wonderful police dept on him, i think your full of ish.
To “dover alum” I have never seen Abraham chase and beat down anyone either, but if thats the case then I’m glad abraham chased down those people and beat them, they probably deserved it! too bad those people weren’t two pigs(cops) he beat……
Those West Wendover Bacon that like to call them selves “cops” are nothing but uneducated nincompoops who don’t know the proper way to even arrest a person, let alone target actual crime. I mean really! all Abraham did was walk by, and they automatically took it as some kind of threat! witnesses at the scene even claimed that on top of a stupid reason to arrest a person, Abraham was not even read his Mirada rights! and was seated alone in the front seat of the police vehicle with the door wide open……….In fact it wasn’t until half an hour later that these cops even realized Abraham was gone. And the reason for his arrest is still a mystery! which obviously indicates that this innocent man DID NOT DO ANYTHING to be treated like a criminal. These so called cops don’t even know the least bit about real crime. And how is The Wendover community supposed to feel safe. Who knew that the supposed crime fighters are actually the real criminals. They also have a habit to stalk Abraham and his family and decide to pull them out of their work for ridiculous questioning whenever they please, which they have done to his mother. Instead of harassing and disturbing the peace of his family,(often done) they should go back to the police academy and learn something useful, what if the next time they improperly arrest someone and place them in the front seat of their car, its not an innocent like Abraham or any of these other kids they’ve bothered, but some armed psycho killer who is an actual danger to society?? well my guess is that they will probably hide and pretend they didn’t see anything like cowards. I hope Abraham get justice for what this police department has done to him and how all of this has affected his children. Trucker keep truckin!! We love you Abraham
these cops of full of sh*& I’ve never seen such police corruption in my life! what they need is a taste of real crime to put them in their place if they live through since they have absolutely so experience.
They arrest innocent people like Abraham but leave all the real criminals alone! these cops need go after the guys who are poisoning our kids with narcotics instead of wasting their time picking on people who have done no wrong.

As a former resident, friend and classmate of Truckers. I’ve watched first hand that once your picked up once, your targeted! Also Dover Alum I agree that if you have seen this so called running 2 people down and beating them then you should have called the police.
Of course he’s getting help from the community, abviously HE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE TRYING TO PROVE A POINT. He has been targeted since he was in Junior high,and its crap. The wendover police force needs to be changed.

I don’t think he’s trying to prove a point. I’ve only experienced one case of corruption in wendover from the police. Even before this when I lived in wendover I’ve noticed residents never want to help the cops no matter what the problem is. The only thing Trucker has proved with this is he’s guilty of something when he got arrested. Innocent people don’t run.
Yes they do target you! I lived with an officer growing up, and I seen it first hand. You really don’t see it, unless your around it as I was. And yes he is trying to prove a point as well as the residents. If this wasn’t the case then the WWPD would have been able to get some tips as to where he is, or find him by now. Wendover is not that big. Come on, common sense is telling every one how some of the residents are feeling towards the WWPD. The residents don’t want to help WWPD because they pick on, judge against, and target. While the town is over run with crack heads and meth heads.
I have been a resident for quite some time here in Wendover and im sorry to say but your “HERO’ trucker is on probation and a known member of the REBElS 13 gang. Its always funny how the local police are criticized for what they do but the first time you need them they are there and as for real crime, please lets remember the homicides we have had and been solved. Everyone throws the blame at the police but if you dont call or get involved how are they supposed to do their jobs. Im sure WWPD would love to have you lovely citizens that complain try to work in the conditions they work in, 7 days a week, 24 hrs a day and 365 a year whether its a holiday or not and i dont know to many people that are complaining could even pass the academy these people go through. For once look at yourselves in the mirror and fix the problems in your own life before you throw blame elsewhere.

He was on probation back in 2002 got arrested for violating it when he was 14.
Then in 2004 he was arrested in Elko for obstructing a police officer(yeah it’s a conspiracy the Elko police department are in on it also).
Then was arrested later that same year for failure to appear in court(again the WWPD held him against his will so he couldn’t attend court.)
Then was arrested in 2005 for theft.
Then in 2009 he was arrested again for possession/sale of a controlled substance, having drug paraphernalia
Then arrested not much longer after that arrest for a DUI being on drugs.
Let’s see he was arrested in February 2010 on a drug related warrant and was found to have marijuana in his butt crack.
Then arrested again in 2010 for violating his probation.
To those who say that he is being picked on for doing nothing, you do realize that he is on probation and just by him being at a bar violates his probation. He is a known felon. So the police were just doing their job when they arrested him. It’s unfortunate he got away because he deserves to be locked up. He apparently(according to his track record) thinks the laws don’t apply to him. He is just picked on by the big bad police department.
On another note I agree with Former Resident, there does need to be more done about the drug problem. There is two things needed to fight it, resources and money which the police department does not have. They do the best job they can with the limited resources they have. People tend to forget that Nevada is not in the best economic shape and budgets have been slashed across the state.
If you don’t like what goes on in the Police Department then go get the training and join the force. YOU strap on a bullet proof vest. YOU put your life in danger day in and day out. YOU do the best job you can with limited resources. But YOU won’t you just like to whine and complain on how the cops are picking on you or Abraham Morales.
Most people know that the best way to have the cops to leave you alone, is to not break the law. Abraham Morales doesn’t get that and apparently you don’t either.
If Abraham Morales is a local hero than that is a sad day for West Wendover.
Keep up the good work WWPD. There are some people in this community that appreciate what you do.
