A couple of weeks ago a Saudi prince called the new technology that allows the development of oil fields from tar sands and oil shale the most significant threat to OPEC ever in its history.

Considering the blood covered history of OPEC we don’t think that is such a bad thing.

From funding wars (several of which are going on right now), world wide terrorism, and keeping despots, religious fanatics, and total nut jobs in power oil from the Middle East has proven to be a curse. A necessary evil the West has put with because it had too.

And now we are on the verge of not having too anymore.

Think about what that means.

No more having to be nice to slave keeping, women hating, bigoted racist dirt bags who despite of having almost all the money in the world still boast a literacy rate of less than 50 percent and not one technical, scientific, or engineering innovation in the past 100 years.

They will have no more money to pay for terrorist plots.

In time we might even be able to board a flight without taking off our shoes.

We have heard lots of bad things about oil drilling in general and fracking in particular but nothing as bad as 9/11 which was financed from petro dollars.

Of course all drilling has risks and maybe fracking has even more risks than regularly drilling.

So what?

We would much rather buy gas that came from a well in South Dakota or Nevada than a well in Venezuela or Libya.

At the very worst the oil companies of North America cheat on their taxes or pollute a little ground water.

At the very worst the oil mad men of the Middle East and South America pay for wars that kill hundreds of thousands of civilians, waste trillions on getting a nuclear bomb, and dream of spreading their foul evil version of jihad all over the world.

Kind of puts fire coming out of the tap into perspective, doesn’t it?

We can probably fix the fire from the faucet easier than fixing a culture so sick and so twisted it cannot recognize the worth of a woman or respect a religion other than its own.

Let the mullahs, the sheiks, the presidents-for-life tremble and watch their piles of cash dwindle and diminish.

Let them curse the West whose industry and technology made them wealthy beyond anyone’s wildest imagination.

Soon all they will be able to afford is a curse.

If fracking means no more blood for oil than all we can say is drill baby drill, frack baby frack.
