On Friday, September 26th the Wolverine Cross Country team made their presence known at the Wells Invitational Meet held at the Chimney Rock Municipal Golf Course. The Wolverines took 1st place with freshman Joel Rodriguez not only leading the team to victory but also winning the entire race with a time of 19:05. Rodriguez was followed by fellow freshman Jorge Aguirre who placed 5th overall with a time of 19:35.
Rounding out the remaining 5 spots to ensure a victory was Blaine Becker (20:35), Martin Rodriguez (20:36), Daegan Wilcox (21:13), German Hernandez (22:06), and Colton Smith (22:19). The Wolverines will be competing for their 3rd straight Division III title in Las Vegas on October 31.
Colton Brady from Owyhee finished second (19:19). Third was Oliver Aikenhead from Elko (19:30) Luke Mabey of Spring Creek took fourth. (19:32), and Bryce Murphy of Elko (19:38) place after Jorge Aguirre, but still under the 20.
