Las Vegas, NV (August 6, 2015) — Students throughout Nevada, including small rural areas, have another educational option. Because Leadership Academy of Nevada (LANV) is completely online, it is available to all Nevada students, regardless of where they live. This new charter school provides students statewide the opportunity to receive a high-quality education if they are willing to work hard. LANV currently has students living in Pahrump, Logandale, Laughlin, Reno, Fallon, Fernley, Spring Creek, Crescent Valley, and Ely, and is open to students in other areas of the state as well.
Socializing in an Online School
One of the primary concerns parents have about education through an online school is whether or not their child will feel isolated and whether or not real relationships can be made in a virtual environment. Students at LANV have proven that its technological platform does indeed provide an online environment that supports and nurtures interpersonal relationships and allows students to develop authentic friendships with their peers and mentors, regardless of how far apart they may live. This happens multiple times each week as students login to live classes at the same time as their classmates. In class, students interact with one another and their mentor through engaging discussions, debates, simulations, and presentations. After class ends, many students set up virtual hangouts with their friends to work on group assignments and have fun together.
