Last Tuesday, September 11th, 2018, at approximately 5:20pm, NHP Troopers responded to a fatal crash on I-80 eastbound at mile marker 408.  This is within the city limits of Wendover.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 2007 Cadillac Escalade was traveling eastbound on I-80 near mile marker 408.  There were two occupants in the vehicle.  One adult male and one adult female.  For unknown reasons, the driver allowed the vehicle to drift off the north (left) road edge.  The driver abruptly steered the vehicle to the right causing it to rotate in a clockwise direction.  The vehicle overturned several times on the Interstate.  During rollover, both occupants were ejected.  They were not wearing seatbelts.

The Cadillac came to rest on the south dirt shoulder area on its wheels.

Mr. Lee Carmack, age 33, from Everett, Washington died at the scene.  He was not wearing his seatbelt.

Ms. Shanlee Green, age 21, from Everett, Washington was seriously injured and flown to University of Utah.  She was not wearing a seatbelt.

NHP is still investigating who was driving.
