We like to take the opportunity to sing the praises of one of our clients— CentraCom.

Yes it was disconcerting for us to see our little city grind to a halt last week when the internet went down for so many.

Not us because we have CentraCom but for so many others.

Funny when WREC started high speed internet service a dozen years ago we were one of the first to get on board and we stayed on board until WREC got out of the internet business five years ago.

Those were good days.

Yes wrecwireless was not without fault but when the connection broke we knew they were on it and would have it fixed before anyone went home that day.

It was simple good customer service you give to people who know where you live.

The company who took over from WREC was needless to say not the friendly neighborhood locally owned and operated company we started doing business with. And after just a couple of months of spotty service and even spottier responsiveness we went on line with CentraCom who recently took over the local cable TV.

Just like wrecwireless CentraCom is locally owned and locally operated. Its people from rural Utah started out 125 years ago providing telephone service to places deemed not cost effective enough for Ma Bell.

CentraCom goes the extra mile and makes damn sure no one goes home until everything is fixed.

We joke that it is because we know where they live but it is more than that. They are in a world full of strangers our neighbors. They will go above and beyond because that is what neighbors do.

The Ely Railroad is a never ending story that just keeps on chugging along.

Kind of like the scandals of the Clinton administration.
