A battle of rival Ely political facebook pages could be over with announcement of one moderator she was throwing in the towel.
“I will be closing down this group this week.” wrote Patricia Orr-Fua host of White Pine County Nevada Politics Unleashed facebook page. “I have now even received hate mail at my house and had 2 days in a row with someone at work wanting to argue with me about fracking. I get hateful comments and messages and am talked about by name or referred to on the other board for things which I know nothing about and cannot defend myself because I am not allowed to comment. On two occasions people who I don’t even know made reference on the board to my JOB….To the members of this board, I am truly sorry but I cannot support the hate that has oozed out of this experience.”
Fua began her web page a month ago, as she explained in her post to provide a platform for White Pine county residents opposed to fracking after fracking posts were banned from the original White Pine county political chat facebook page moderated by Audrey Clark.
There are about 140 member of White Pine County Nevada Politics Unleashed.
While not a supporter of fracking herself, Clark said the effective banishment of fracking posts was necessary to maintain decorum on her page.
“We deal with lots of issues on the page and the fracking posts were kind of taking over,” Clark explained.
Clark began her page eight months ago and has close to 400 members.
“I started the group back in March 2013 as a way for me to learn about politics. I really knew nothing and thought it would be a great (fun) way for me to learn, Little did I know the ruckus it would cause! I am truly amazed how the group grew and transformed. A lot of people joined and seemed to enjoy having a place to discuss issues and try to find answers to things.” said page founder Audrey Clark.
“The only thing I have ever asked from members is that they not be rude to one another,” Clark said. “We can disagree but not be disagreeable.”
According to Clark she has only had to oust four members from her group for breaking her golden rule but only when repeatedly pressed did she admit Fua was one of them.
In a late breaking development Fua announced that while she was giving up moderation duties the her page would note yet close and instead come under the direction of Christopher Lani.
And the extremist lani is another that got booted and not allow back on the Ely politics page, orr us another that isn’t allowed back. One other has returned to the page and the final refuses to be added back
This Unleashed site is a rediculou, self serving, liberal site that WILL boot ANYONE that doesn’t agree with a political agenda. It’s a disgusting group of ignorant people…. I should know, I got booted after posting pro conservative, republican viewpoints following several liberal anti republican government shutdown posts…. The admin of this page is not open to alternate views. Period….
Yes 1 was booted, the other left on their own, both have been blocked by me because of all the comments made about me that are 100% lies just like the lies in the above story, if i am going to be accused of censorship then i guess I will censor the ones accusing me of that, September 4th according to the above article Orr stated ““I will be closing down this group this week.” wrote Patricia Orr-Fua host of White Pine County Nevada Politics Unleashed facebook page” Didnt happen, “In a late breaking development Fua announced that while she was giving up moderation duties the her page would note yet close and instead come under the direction of Christopher Lani.” didnt happen, what did happen is i asked both of them before i started the fracking page if they would be interested in being mods of the group, they were both very vocal on the subject. they both got excited and said yes so I started the group and made them admin and then all they did was say horri8ble lies about me so I closed the group, that made them even madder. Oh well nothing but lies from their mouths ever sense, Subject is dropped by me but I still received harrassing messages from Orr untill Oct 10th, I also have members of my group contacting me about how they are being harrased by mods of the other group and threats of law suits every time something is said in my group they dont like. So yes I guess I am censoring both of them, maybe when they grow up and act their age things will change, but i really doubt it.
