While most tourist took the long Labor Day weekend as an opportunity to enjoy themselves in Wendover a handful of others used the holiday to behave incredibly badly according to police reports

24 year old Dottie Connolly of Draper, Utah kicked off the holiday jerk-fest Friday morning when she allegedly tried to cash a forged check using a forged identity. She was booked into the Elko County Jail on a $30,000.

Less than two hours later local police were called to a casino parking lot where they were met by a beaten and battered woman who told them that her significant other Edward Cruey had held her in their semi trailer truck, beat her and refused to let her leave.

The victim was later able to escape and called police. Cruey, 48, from Davidson North Carolina, was arrested on one count each of domestic violence and false imprisonment. He was booked into the Elko County Jail on a bail of $5000.

Sunday morning police were again dispatched to another local casino where they found Stephen Tarabetz in security custody. Tarabetz, 33, of Salt Lake City was visibly intoxicated at the time admitted to pulling the casino’s fire alarm because he was upset with the service at the establishment. He added insult to injury by urinating in the stair well as other guests passed by during the evacuation of the hotel.

He was booked into the Elko County Jail on one count of false fire alarm and one count of public urination.

Finally on Monday, police helped capture two men being chased by casino security after they were caught burglarizing cars in the parking lot. While Chance Wilden and Joshua Vialpando were being taken into custody a review of surveillance footage revealed that before running amok in the parking lot the two men both aged 24 engaged in a fire extinguisher fight in a locked off area of the casino.

Vialpando, of Sandy, Utah was booked into jail on two counts of burglary and one count of injury to personal property. Wilden of Eagle Mountain, Utah was charged with one count burglary and injury to personal property bail was set at $10,500.
